BioCosmetic Center Releases Top 5 Reasons to Look for Natural Hormone Replacement

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

BioCosmetic Center releases top 5 reasons to look for natural hormone replacement. Natural hormone replacement is also known as bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). The therapy is based on the necessary replacement or adjustment of hormones that are missing or deficient in the body using hormones that are molecularly identical to endogenous hormones.

Top 5 Reasons to Look for Natural Hormone Replacement:

1.    Menopause: therapy can be used to reduce the symptoms of menopause
2.    Anti-aging
3.    Improvement of quality of life
4.    Stress induced adrenal fatigue and other stress induced conditions
5.    Andropause (the male menopause)

Eric Jantze of BioCosmetic Center says, “Natural hormone therapy is a natural response to the depleted hormone levels that many over the age of 30 suffer. Different hormone deficiencies will present with different symptoms, but some of them are life altering. We use a complete examination to actually define clinical deficiencies prior to conducting any type of hormone therapy to ensure that patients are getting exactly what their body needs.”

Bioidentical hormone therapy or natural hormone therapy has been known to effectively decrease the signs and symptoms of menopause and andropause. Hormone levels continue to decrease as the body ages making it a logical treatment for those in their fifties and sixties; decreasing the obvious signs of age.

BioCosmetic Center Cites Study Indicating Prevalence of HSDD

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

BioCosmetic Center cites a recent study (Arch Intern Med. 2008 Jul 14;168(13):1441-9) that indicates that prevalence of hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) is high. It is particularly high amongst menopausal women (with surgically menopausal women having higher rates of HSDD in comparison to naturally menopausal women).

HSDD is a sexual disorder characterized by a marked lack of sexual desire. Expert diagnosis is required in order to properly diagnose the disorder. To be classified as HSDD the lack of interest in any and all sexual activities must cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulties. It must also not be able to be accounted for by another disorder or mental disease.

Another recent study on HSDD (Menopause. 2006 Jan-Feb;13(1):46-56) concluded that, “HSDD is prevalent among women at all reproductive stages, with younger surgically postmenopausal women at greater risk…” HSDD is prevalent. And there is no pharmaceutical treatment. Many are turning to bioidentical hormones treatment.

Eric Jantze of BioCosmetic Center responded, “One of the difficulties with HSDD and other, similar disorders are the general nature of the symptoms. They could be attributable to any number of disorders or mental states. For women with HSDD…a thorough exam outlining hormone levels and followed by appropriate bioidentical hormones treatment can be very beneficial.”

BioCosmetic Center offers all inclusive, personalized programs to aid individuals in obtaining their physical goals. Programs can include any of the following: acne scar removal, liposuction, Botox, weight loss, scar removal, bio-identical hormones, dermal fillers, and more.

BioCosmetic Center Urges Consumers to Beware of Unwarranted Synthetic Hormone Replacement

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

BioCosmetic Center urges consumers to beware of unwarranted hormone replacement. Unnecessary synthetic hormone replacement therapy can result in drastic negative effects. To avoid problems in relation to hormone replacement therapy patients considering hormone issues should consult an experienced professional who will tap the correct resources in order to provide a valid clinical diagnosis of any shortages or deficiencies.

Qualified professionals with experience in the field only prescribe hormone replacement when necessary. Prior to diagnosing actual hormone replacement, practitioners with experience in the field of hormone replacement prescribe natural remedies such as dietary changes and/or exercise first in order to achieve the necessary balance. If that doesn’t work, then bio-identical hormone therapy may be prescribed. Bio-identical hormone therapy is a safe and effective alternative to synthetic hormones.

When these natural steps have been taken and complete exams (including blood work) still show shortages and deficiencies of vital hormones, hormone replacement is a viable option.

Eric Jantze of BioCosmetic Center said, “The majority of people over the age of 30 have some kind of hormonal shortage or deficiency. It’s a common issue we’ve created in today’s society. The symptoms can be very mild or they can be severe. It depends on the individual situation at hand. But jumping in to synthetic hormone replacement therapy of any kind without a complete exam by a qualified professional is the worst possible action to take. Be sure to consult a cosmetic center for natural alternatives such as bio-identical hormones.”

BioCosmetic Center offers all inclusive, personalized programs to aid individuals in obtaining their physical goals. Programs can include any of the following: acne scar removal, liposuction, Botox, weight loss, scar removal, bio-identical hormones, dermal fillers, and more.

Scar Removal: Know The Basics

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Scar removal has a few basics that need to be considered before action is taken. Attempting to access scar removal services without being aware of the basics often leads consumers/patients into a negative situation where their scar removal services lack professionalism or accuracy.

When deciding to undergo scar removal the most vital element is accessing services through an experienced professional. Experienced professionals will be up to date with the very latest technology making the world of difference in the effectiveness of the procedure. Accessing professional services offers patients a decrease in scarring of up to 70%. This is life changing for many patients.

The most frequent type of scarring bringing individuals to scar removal is acne scarring. But it isn’t the only type of scarring for which scar removal can be effective. If accessed through an experienced professional scar removal can even be effective on Melasma. It’s typically referred to as a pregnancy mask because it is discoloration of the skin and is typically occurring around the eyes.

Melasma is most often affecting women who are pregnant. But Melasma can affect any individual regardless of pregnancy. Other instances that can increase the risk of Melasma include hormone therapy and birth control.

While acne and Melasma are two types of scarring that often bring patients in for scar removal…they are not the only types of scarring. Scarring is a major part of the body’s natural healing process post injury. The type and method of scarring depends upon several things: the location and size of the wound, the person’s age and sex, the race of the individual, and genetic factors.

Keloid scars are raised off the skin, reddish purple, and they typically extend beyond the original wound boundaries. They also tend to grow over time. This is the type of scar for which scar removal is most effective. Other types of scars are called either atrophic or hypertrophic. Treating these types of scars with scar removal has varied results.

Hypertrophic are raised similar to keloid scars, but they can be differentiated by the fact that they are firm, pink and stay within the wound’s original area. Atrophic scars are quite different in appearance. Rather than raised, they appear as pin-like depressions in the skin. They are often a result of acne, but other skin condition can leave similar scarring.

Life changing scar removal can provide drastic boosts to the self esteem, the self image and general confidence. Professional scar removal is effective and beneficial to the individual in ways that are typically unimaginable until the procedure is complete. Talk to a professional today.

BioCosmetic Center Cites Study Indicating that Higher Percentages of Young Adults Approve of Cosmetic Procedures

Friday, June 4th, 2010

BioCosmetic Center cites study indicating that higher percentages of young adults approve of cosmetic procedures. The study was commissioned by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and was conducted by the independent research firm Synovate. According to the study, men and women aged 18-24 had the highest approval rating for cosmetic procedures.

Eric Jantze of BioCosmetic Center said, “We have patients of all ages coming in looking for a wide variety of cosmetic procedures. Some begin the conversation asking about liposuction costs. Others begin the conversation asking about average weight loss using the BioCosmetic Center program. Others start off the conversation saying they want to feel better about themselves and they want a professional opinion on cosmetic procedures that would enhance their physical appearance.”

Other findings offered by the study included:

1.    Men and women are less “embarrassed” by cosmetic enhancement than in years past. 78% of women said they would not be embarrassed if others knew they had cosmetic procedures done and 79% of men said they wouldn’t be embarrassed.
2.    32% of all women said they would consider cosmetic procedures while 20% of men said the same thing.
3.    Men and women with children living in their household were more likely to consider cosmetic procedures than those who did not have children living in their household.
4.    56% of women said they “approve” of cosmetic procedures compared to 57% of men.

Increased approval from the general public could be due to a variety of reasons. The most obvious in today’s cosmetic industry are: increased availability, decreased invasiveness of cosmetic procedure, lower liposuction costs, recent laser technology advancements, increased effectiveness of procedures, etc.

BioCosmetic Center offers all inclusive, personalized programs to aid individuals in obtaining their physical goals. Programs can include any of the following: acne scar removal, liposuction, Botox, weight loss, scar removal, bio-identical hormones, dermal fillers, and more.

Treating Testosterone Deficiency: Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Men in their 30’s are showing up in greater numbers at cosmetic centers attempting to determine if they have a hormone deficiency. They are requesting complete health exams including blood tests that can accurately determine current hormone levels. These tests can be used to determine exactly where testosterone levels lie; if they are low or if there is a clinical deficiency.

Information released from studies of testosterone levels in the last several years offered interesting conclusions. Testosterone replacement therapy is apparently under used. The release of this type of information has resulted in the typical response; an influx of individuals worried that they need the treatment. It’s not a surprising response. The study (Nature Reviews Urology) indicated that the issue of low testosterone as well as clinical deficiencies in testosterone are under diagnosed. It also indicated that those who were diagnosed were under treated.

The information was offered through Nature Reviews Urology:

1. Men aged 40 to 70 have a 6% to 9.5% chance of being testosterone deficient.

2. Of all men who are either obese and/or diabetic 15% to 30% are found to be testosterone deficient.

3. Of men who are diagnosed with testosterone deficiencies only about 10% of men are properly treated (for instance testosterone replacement therapy administered by an experienced professional).

When experienced professionals consider the recent influx in interest in testosterone replacement therapy they consider it probable that it is a direct result of the information released by organizations such as Nature Reviews Urology. Because men are more aware of the negative effects of being testosterone deficient they are searching out possible treatment methods.

Leaving a testosterone deficiency untreated can leave men suffering from abnormal growth in bone and/or muscle. It can result in a notable decrease in virility and stamina. It can result in underdevelopment of the genitalia. The symptoms indicating a testosterone deficiency are not exclusive. They could indicate a number of different issues. The only way to determine once and for all if there is a testosterone issue that could benefit from testosterone replacement therapy is to undergo certified hormone level testing.

Sclerotherapy Treatments Reduce Spider Veins

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Individuals with spider veins or varicose veins benefit greatly from sclerotherapy treatments. After several successful sclerotherapy treatments patients see 50 to 90% improvement. Patients should be aware prior to start of treatment that fading of visible veins is gradual and can take several months to remove entirely.

While there are preventative methods that can reduce the risk for spider veins/varicose veins they are not a guarantee that the problem will not present itself. These preventative methods include:

1. Support hose: wearing support hose minimizes the development of unwanted blood vessels.

2. Losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight: Overweight/obesity both increase the risk for varicose veins/spider veins drastically.

3. Exercise: regular exercise keeps circulation at a healthy level and decreases the risk of varicose veins/spider veins.

4. Diet/Nutrition: Eating a diet packed with high fiber decreases the risk for varicose veins/spider veins.

5. Shoes: High heeled shoes increase the risk for varicose veins/spider veins. So wearing low heeled shoes is an effective preventative measure.

6. Sun protection: protecting the skin of the face effectively decreases the probability of getting unwanted vessels in the facial area).

In addition to removing the visible veins, sclerotherapy also reduces the symptoms that go along with the problem. Typical symptoms include aching, burning and swelling in the legs as well as nocturnal leg cramps. Spider veins are more common in women than men, but men who have spider veins can access results using sclerotherapy treatment. Age is not a factor in treatment, although most cases of spider veins/varicose veins are more problematic as an individual ages.

Juvederm Treatments Alternative to Botox

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Countless individuals have undergone Botox treatment and enjoyed the benefits. Many take advantage of the anti-aging benefits of Botox regularly. But is this the only option when it comes to anti-aging treatments to alleviate the damage of time on the face and neck areas? It is absolutely not the only option. Experienced professionals take advantage of a wider variety of anti-aging treatments including Juvederm treatments.

Juvederm treatments are a popular alternative to Botox that provide a mini facelift. Individuals experiencing sagging or dropping in the tissues of their face often end up with a “pear shaped” face. This type of situation can be remedied by regular Juvederm treatments over the course of 6 to 9 months. The results are often drastic.

Botox, Juvederm treatments, Perlane, Evolence, Radiesse, Restylane, Sculptra…considering the various anti-aging treatments available can be overwhelming for those interested in results. Consider consulting a professional that has access to several various treatments at their facility to get an unbiased opinion on which anti-aging treatment would best suit specific situations.

Dermal fillers are quite effective for anti-aging purposes. Other available cosmetic procedures that offer aging relief to the face and neck area are: IPL photofacials, skin tightening, laser facials and resurfacing.

While Juvederm treatments require frequent sittings for 6 to 9 months there are cosmetic procedures that offer a permanent solution to sagging tissue in the face. Individuals looking for a permanent solution to problems with sagging and dropping of facial tissues can consider fat transfers. While the results look similar to those of the various dermal fillers the treatment isn’t required frequently; it is a one time procedure.

Consulting a cosmetic professional is the most effective method of deciding upon proper treatment due to the fact that many individuals can benefit from a particular type of procedure or even a particular combination of procedures. Obtaining the best results is most likely when working with an experienced professional or team of professionals that offer practical knowledge to incoming patients.

BioCosmetic Center Responds to Negative Discussions of Human Growth Hormone

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

BioCosmetic Center responds to the highly publicized negative view of human growth hormone by releasing information regarding proper hormone balancing treatment. The Center conducts extensive blood work on incoming patients to determine any hormone deficiencies. Prescription hormone supplementation is utilized only when clinical deficiencies are obvious through extensive blood testing and only after natural methods of stimulating increased hormone production to create the correct balance have been implemented unsuccessfully.
Eric Jantze of BioCosmetic Center clarified, “We do complete health evaluations. We look at all the various levels including testosterone levels, insulin levels, thyroid levels, growth hormone levels and more. We don’t use hormone treatment lightly. Clinical deficiency may result in hormone treatment, but some are quite rare.”

While almost every person who comes in over the age of 30 needs some sort of hormone balancing many hormone deficiencies that the general public sees as quick fixes are not actually a common problem. For instance the highly requested human growth hormone is very rarely identified as clinically deficient, but the general public continues to view it as an anti-aging solution.

Professionals at BioCosmetic Center urge patients with slight to dramatic deficiencies (of human growth hormone, testosterone, etc.) to implement natural solutions first. For instance proper nutrition and exercise can increase the levels of human growth hormone substantially by balancing other hormone levels. A recent case study that came through the Center achieved a 60 point increase through changes in diet and exercise alone.

BioCosmetic Center offers all inclusive, personalized programs to aid individuals in obtaining their physical goals. Programs can include any of the following: liposuction, Botox, weight loss, scar removal, bio-identical hormones, dermal fillers, acne treatment, laser hair removal, and more.

SUMMARY: BioCosmetic Center cites findings indicating 50% of individuals who have one or more tattoos eventually seek tattoo removal services.

Phoenix, AZ –BioCosmetic Center cites findings indicating 50% of individuals who have one or more tattoos eventually seek tattoo removal services (American Dermatological Survey 2002). According to The National Geographic News (April 2000) 15% of Americans were tattooed; this is the equivalent of 40 million Americans. A Harris Poll conducted in 2003 indicated 36% of 25 to 29 year olds have one or more tattoos.

The popularity of the tattoo is unquestionable. The reasons behind tattoos are many and they are varied. They are often used to commemorate events, as a memorial to the deceased, as a sign of inclusion in particular groups, and often as sheer decoration.

But the consistency of the eventual desire to have the tattoo removed is also undeniable. Many mistakenly believe that pain is a must for tattoo removal. But undergoing tattoo removal through a reputable cosmetic center utilizing the latest laser technology and appropriate medications actually provides painless tattoo removal.

Eric Jantze of BioCosmetic Center responded, “Tattoo removal can be one of the most painful things an individual goes through in their life…if they go to the wrong place. It can be so painful that many never complete the process. Here at BioCosmetic Center we offer complete tattoo removal and it’s pain free. The sad thing is that some people believe that the pain is just part of the process that they have to endure…and they don’t.”
